Ok every so often I like to change things up. Usually I do it at the beginning of the year, but I think now is a perfect time. There has been an underground movement for a long time in design and illustration on gig posters. I'd like to run ads in these styles. I think it'll help set Chesbro apart and tap into a local music scene vibe. You don't see anything like this in the trades and its not necessarily hard to do (though, some of it takes a lot of time, some of it is nothing more than cut up stock photos and PS magic)... anywho, this is a style that we can almost any message into. I've attached some examples.

Rexburg or bust

So we left the beach house and got to LAX 2.5hrs early. We landed in SLC, picked up the blazer and started back to rexburg. As it turns out the idiots that replaced my ball valves last week did such a bang up job that one of the two bolts holding the brake caliper on was loose and flew off. This caused the caliper to begin carving a two nice rings into the rim. As the car was shaking, lurching and grinding on the freeway, we thought that something might be wrong. So here we are in Tremonton with no movie theater having spent last night in a motel that advertises its color TVs. What an adventure!

This was the week that Cory came to meet the folks and sibs right before he asked my Dad's permission to marry my hand in marriage.

At the beach with the family

Here is a fun day at the beach with lots of family. It was labor day and we all decided we needed the day off. I almost jumped in the ocean and went for a swim but it was freezing and Cory and I were already in for a cold ride back to Paso on the bike so I decided against it. Oh well.
To our upper left is a great picture of Brian and Lorilee (Corys mom and dad, and my wonderful in-laws) and to the lower left is a picture of Corys brother Cade and his wife Lisa and their scrumptious baby Trace who I miss so very much!!!! Cory and I will miss the beach very much while in the frozen wasteland known as Rexburg. And our family, we'll miss our family too!

The good things in life (CA edition)

In honor of all the good times Cory and I had in California I've decided to start the blog with a series of pictures of some good old times in Cali. This particular time was at a favorite restaurant of ours in downtown Paso Robles called tortilla town. Thanks to my husband for catching me devouring this man-sized burrito. I'm at my best when I'm eating. But for reals, this place is awesome. Giant homemade tortillas with all the fixings you could ask for on burrito. Everyones favorite topping was their fresh homemade guacamole, not because of its great taste but because all of the employees shouted Guac-a-mol-eee!! whenever someone ordered it. Yes, Cory and I will miss tortilla town greatly.
